Ami's doula services are outstanding. She was available for questions prior to labor and her check-in messages were very comforting. Once I was in labor, Ami was a godsend. Ami's private childbirth prep class was perfect for us. Of course, having her come to our house was ideal for our schedule, and Ami herself is wonderfully knowledgeable and warm, a great teacher and advisor with a wealth of information (great visual aids!). She combines solid medical knowledge about pregnancy and childbirth with experience and knowledge of women and their families. (She even got down on our living room floor without any self-consciousness to demonstrate exercises and comfort positions.)
My husband is a physician with a rather scientific orientation and an experienced parent, and I am often interested in alternative approaches and this was my first pregnancy, yet Ami was able to make us both feel confident in her and in ourselves.
I will be recommending Ami to all our friends as they get pregnant, because she is a terrific teacher providing an outstanding service. The fact that she is able to tailor private classes to the needs of parents (e.g. for people who just need a refresher course, or who want greater emphasis on particular issues) makes her private classes even more of a treasure for busy, expectant parents.
