What I’ve been doing while neglecting my blog

Yikes.

In pregnancy terms, I haven’t posted here since the first trimester.

I promise to baby this blog much more often, but there’s a good reason why I haven’t posted lately – I have some exciting news to share with you!

No, I’m not pregnant. That ship has sailed far, far away.

However, my 10 year old recently asked, “How are you allowed to be a parent?”

And my nearly-14 year old just said, “You really need to get your hair colored again.”

Seriously, I can’t make this stuff up.

On to the exciting news –

I was asked to be a writer for allParenting.com, a brand new online magazine filled with the kind of articles I wish I had read when I was pregnant and articles that are relevant now that my kids are older. I can’t wait for you to check out the site!

A great group of writers are featured on the site and I’m really honored to be part of the group.

For years, my husband has been telling me I should start blogging, which I suppose is better than telling me I should stop nagging. Clearly, I’m just starting to listen to him (about the blogging, not the nagging. What can I say? I’m a Jewish mother.)
So, here is blog post #1 — really just a way to say thanks for checking out the new & improved BirthTalk.com.

Whether you’re new to Birth Talk or I’ve been your doula or taught your childbirth classes, I hope you enjoy the new site. In addition to information about my childbirth classes, the site now has links to articles I’ve written as well as more ways to connect on Facebook, Twitter and this blog.

I also want to say thanks a million times over to my sons, who know more about labor and birth in 4th and 8th grade than I did in my twenties, and my husband without whom I wouldn’t have those sons. Or, this blog. (I really don’t want to admit he was right, but I guess I just did. To lots and lots of people.)

I’ll be posting regularly about pregnancy, birth and parenting — and putting more of the “talk’ in Birth Talk. I look forward to reading your comments and answering your questions.
