About Ami Burns, CD(DONA), LCCE, FACCE

Ami is a Lamaze International Certified Childbirth Educator and DONA International Certified Doula.

She is a pregnancy and childbirth expert on Parents.com, and regularly contributes to PregnancyandBaby.com. Ami also produces award-winning media about birth and parenting.

Ami’s fun, engaging, non-judgmental teaching style helps families make informed choices about labor and birth. She is well respected by members of the medical community – many doctors and nurses take her classes – as well as parents favoring an alternative approach to birth. Ami has attended numerous births in Boston and Chicago.

In 2009, Ami was inducted as a Fellow in the Academy of Certified Childbirth Educators for her significant contributions to the field of childbirth education and her commitment to promoting safe and healthy births including the Lamaze Philosophy of Birth, research, advocacy, media and community leadership efforts.

Ami received her B.S. in Mass Communication from Emerson College. She and her husband are the proud parents of two amazing sons.
