Ami is a
Lamaze International Certified Childbirth Educator and
DONA International Certified Doula whose warm, non-judgmental style has helped countless women make informed choices about their birth experiences. She is well respected by members of the medical community (many doctors and nurses take her classes) as well as parents favoring an alternative approach to birth.
Ami is known for her fun, engaging teaching style and caring labor and postpartum support. In Boston, she was the Coordinator of Childbirth Education Programs at
Isis Maternity. She also worked as the childbirth instructor for lesbians at
Fenway Community Health Center. She has attended numerous births in Boston and Chicago.
Ami is the award-winning creator and Executive Producer of
Birth Talk Productions and has more than a decade of television production experience. Inspired by her work at Fenway, she created "Mothers and Babies: Lesbians Creating Families." She also produced "The Boston Association for Childbirth Education: The First 50 Years" which premiered at BACE's 50th anniversary conference in 2003.
Ami received her B.S. in Mass Communication from Emerson College. She and her husband are the proud parents of two amazing young sons.
